EMR Implementation - What you need to know

The success of your EMR project is more dependant on successfully executing the implementation phase than all other aspects combined. Unfortunately this phase is usually the most overlooked and in many cases, offices thoroughly review the different EMR packages but once the product is purchased they expect the vendor to take over and bring the implementation to completion. While many vendors products are alike, the processes used for product implementation can vary greatly from vendor to vendor. Some offer remote training & installation services while others offer onsite services, while others will give you the option of both. Selecting an installation method that’s right for your office and your budget is critical.

What’s important to recognize is that the implementation cost will be a significant portion of your total EMR project cost. At first glance this cost can seem unnecessarily high but recognizing the amount of man hours involved in the implementation and the importance of having a successful implementation you will see how important that is.
